Update Coming Soon
I am in the process of flushing the automatic transmission fluid for my 2008 Toyota Corolla, and I ran into a bit of trouble.
As I finished I realized I didn't put enough trans fluid, as the engine was running the oil stopped coming out.
Are there air pockets, did I completely screw it up?
No you didnt completely screw it up. When it is running it raises pressure through out the trans and oil is not just sitting at the bottom of the pan. It depends on the trans on how you service it. If you have a dip stick (auto), you either check the level with it running or not (need to check the manual). If it is a MT, then you would fill at the service hole until it starts coming out with it not running. Put the plug in an your done. BUT if it is a true flush. you would repeat the process in between a full shift cycle.
